Hello dear listeners, and welcome to week four of "Co-Host-A-Palooza" here at Just One of the Guys, where today we're going to be covering our requisite two books, starting with Green Lantern #66, a tale that brings a classic GL villain into the then current 1990's. Sadly, that villain is Sonar, and his revision is oh so 90's, replete with Spandex body suit, rockin' sleeveless labcoat, and bitchin' hair metal hair. Not much of a step up from his original outfit. But to help take down the sonic menace, Kyle is getting a little help from his soon to be JLA teammate, The Flash! With Guy Gardner we get a tale of Guy wandering the galaxy, blasting teenage alien car-jackers, and rescuing some ex-GL's, all the while sporting some truly awful hair metal hair. It seems to be a theme this episode. Yeah, this isn't one of the best of the Guy Gardner run, but thankfully, it's nowhere close to Issue 37 of Green Lantern <shudder>. But being that the Flash shows up in the comic, I've wrangled awesome podcaster Dave Walker, host of Flash Legacies to bring his unique talent to the show and to let us know why Wally's costume was so shiny. So, unless you want more discussion about how Paul Pelletier draws certain areas of male anatomy, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening! Also, be certain to check out Charlie Niemeyer's eBay auction to get some great Mark Waid Captain America comics, which proceeds go directly to the Red Cross to assist with relief efforts for the tornado that recently hit Moore Oklahoma.

Hello dear listeners, and welcome to week three of "Co-Host-A-Palooza" here at Just One of the Guys, where my amazing co-host Luke Jaconetti and I are going to be covering the last part of "The Way of the Warrior" storyline in Guy Gardner Warrior and the second part of "The Siege of Zi Charam" storyline in Green Lantern. Parts 1, 3, 4, and 5 will have to be sought out on other podcasts, because it involves the All New Titans, and Thomas Deja has warned me off those issues. However, the Green Lantern book stands well on its own, with some great artwork by Ron Lim and a surprise cameo from the Herald of Galactus himself, Silver Surfer! Wait...that's not Silver Surfer? But it's Ron Marz and Ron Lim on the books, how could it not be? Whatever... Over in Guy Gardner, it's the ultra 90's showdown between Guy and his ancient Tormock foes as Guy, Diana, Hawkman, and...Probert beat the living snot out of some very 90's aliens. Plus, it wouldn't be a 90's comic without an appearance by...wait for it...Lobo! Ass-kickery abounds. Again, many thanks to Luke Jaconetti for sticking around to finish off this storyline. It was a blast hosting with him, and if you want to hear more of him, check out his giant monster podcast Earth Destruction Directive over at the brand spanking new Two True Freaks website. So, unless you want to take on an army of Space Fabios, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!

Greetings wonderful listeners, and welcome to another episode of Just One of the Guys. We're hip deep in "Co-Host-A-Pallooza Month" with our show this time covering four more issues in the ongoing storyline of the two most underrated Green Lanterns in comicdom. In Green Lantern #64, we get to see the Justice League take on Parallax. Well, not technically THE Justice League, but it sure is a heck of a lot better than the League that was running concurrently. Plus, we ponder on why the heck is Oliver Queen dressing in Conner Hawke's Green Arrow uniform? Seriously, it's all kinds of wrong. Over with Guy Gardner, we are continuing "The Way of the Warrior" storyline in Guy Gardner Warrior #33, JLA #102, and Hawkman #23. Guy fights alot, Obsidian is mopey, Ice Maiden bitch-slaps Fire, and Hawkman is seriously underused, especially in his own comic. Plus we get the eagerly anticipated return of Probert. Almost as eagerly anticipated as the return of Flicker, so not very much at all. All of this and podcaster extraordinaire Luke Jaconetti, host of Earth Destruction Directive, combine to celebrate the 1990's in all of it's over the top wonder. So, unless you want an entire show dedicated to the backstory of Ice Maiden, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening! EDIT!!! PLEASE READ IF THE MUSIC ON THE HAWKMAN SYNOPSIS IS TOO LOUD!!! Due to an error on my part, the initial file had some overpowering music over Luke's synopsis of Hawkman. If you downloaded the show prior to 1:00 pm Central Time, you will have that file. I have uploaded the corrected file, and Luke's scintillating voice should be audible now. My sincere apologies to Luke and all the listeners.

Welcome dear listeners to week one of what I am calling "Co-Host-A-Pallooza", my month long respite for people who are saying how much they love the show if it weren't for the guy doing all the talking. During the month I'm going to bring on some great podcasters and great friends to talk about the books I'm covering that week, and this time out it's a quartet of issues, starting with Green Lantern #63, where Kyle and Hal duke it out...wait, didn't this happen a few months ago? Well, maybe the ranting and raving of the H.E.A.T. fans gave Ron Marz a reason to settle them down. We'll also be taking a look at "The Way of the Warrior" storyline over in Guy Gardner, Justice League America, and Hawkman. Witness Guy mopping the floor with the then really lame version of the Justice League! Marvel at Wonder Woman's non-Wonder Woman costume that she bought off the rack at Hot Topic! Gasp at the not so subtle homoerotic advances of Obsidan and Ice Maiden! Shriek at the awesome bad-assery of Hawkman! And shriek again at the complete mopey-ness of Obsidian...seriously, it really gets on my nerves! All of this goodness is ampilfied by the addition of my very special guest host, Mr Luke Jaconetti, host of Earth Destruction Directive! over at the Two True Freaks podcast network, as well as the author of the blog, Being Carter Hall. We smash our way through this story , and find out just what the heck is up with the Hawk Dude in a synopsis of the character that makes more sense than anything about Donna Troy does. So unless you want to see more of Diana in her Downtown Julie Brown outfit (and trust me, you really don't), I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show and start to listening!

Greetings True Believers, and thanks for downloading another episode of Just One of the Guys for your listening enjoyment...if you overlook the entire fact that I am doing all the talking. This week's fun comes in two awesome installments of our weekly look at Green Lantern and Guy Gardner first with Green Lantern number 62, where Kyle realizes that he might just rely on the ring a bit too much, as he gets his butt handed to himself by Donna Troy and some weird Goro from Mortal Kombat/T-800 from The Terminator mash up. At least getting beat up by Donna has the possibility of it leading to a little make-up snuggling, so that's a bonus. Plus, there's a super secret cameo at the end of the book that you would never expect in a million years (unless you're a member of H.E.A.T., then you've been demanding it). Over in the Guy Gardner book, we get the epic showdown in the Mighty Marvel tradition (hence the Fantastic Four inspired cover) between Guy and his uber-creepy brethren, Dementor. Normally, Guy might be SWEATING BULLETS about this meeting, but with the help of Alan Scott, Supergirl, Tiger Man, and Hooker Jem...wait no, Arisia, Guy ends the SYMPHONY OF DESTRUCTION and sends the Dave Mustaine wannabe away for good, proving Peace Sells, but Nobody's Buying. Okay that last song reference didn't work. So unless you want to get jabbed by Supergirl's implausibly spiky bicep gaunlets, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening.

Hello out there, you wonderful people you, and thanks for listening to another episode of Just One of the Guys. This week, our look at the Green Lantern and Guy Gardner books begins with Green Lantern #61, where Kyle and his snuggle bunny (I'm pretty certain that's the correct term Kevin Dooley mandated she be called) Donna Troy are having a nice little picnic...or the surface of Mars (Hope they didn't tell J'onn J'onnz, because he might be a little miffed with them cavorting all over the barren wasteland that was once his home). But the fun and finger sandwiches will have to wait for our duo, as the Overlord of Apokolips, Darkseid, has sent Kalibak to break up their happy-fun time. And Darkseid also does a little tag popping...whatever that means. Over with Guy, we get a trip to Metropolis in Action Comics 709 where our favorite morphing ginger tries to get some help dealing with his wacky alien hybrid DNA from the Man of Steel. But mostly what he gets is a beatdown in the Metropolis Tunnel, where they appear to be pretty lax in allowing people to transport hazardous materials. This leads into Guy Gardner Warrior #30, where we find out who would win in a fight between Guy and Superman...and strangely enough, the winner is actually SuperGIRL...who saw that coming? Plus we get Mitch Byrd drawing the Last Son of Krypton, which is always awesome for me. But the biggest bonus this episode is I have another wonderful guest host with me this time. Mr J David Weter, host of PAD Smash, Superman Forever Radio, and Green Lantern's Light amongst a myriad of others was kind enough to drop by and add his humor, wit, and charm to the show. Plus he did the synopsis for Action 709, so less work for me...huzzah! As always, David was a blast to have on the show, and you should definitely go check out his podcasts. So unless you want Darkseid to whip out his mad beats on his kickin' sound system, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!

Hello you lovely gatecrashers and welcome to another episode of Just One of the Guys, the most exclusive podcast on the internet, but you've all got VIP passes so it's all good. First off, we've got the death of Major Force (seriously, he's really dead for certain this time) in the Green Lantern book, where Guy and Kyle begin their life long friendship by beating the bejesus out of some thugs underneath the Washington Mall. And someone gets revenge on Major Force, who dies in this issue...really. Lying on the floor face down stone cold dead. Never to be seen again. Over in the Guy Garnder book, it's the opening of the most exclusive bar in all of the DCU...WARRIORS! Buck and Guy have opened the Superhero version of Planet Hollywood and everyone...I mean EVERYONE in the DCU has shown up for opening night. Well, except for Batman and his family, but they've been through a lot recently. But the Blood Pack, Loose Cannon, and Judo Master are there, so that makes up for it, right...RIGHT? Plus it couldn't be a bar opening in the 90's without an appearance by the Main Man himself, Lobo. And since this awesomeness can't be justly conveyed by one man, I've brought along my good friend Thomas Deja, host of Better in the Dark, to make sure I don't miss any of the multitude of cameos in this book. Plus Thomas gives me a reason why it might not be the best idea to cover the All New Titans book on the show, as it isn't Marv Wolfman's greatest run. Friends don't let friends read All New Titans. So, if you want to know why the heck Lead is wearing a wife beater, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!

Happy holidays dear listener, and welcome back to another episode of Just One of the Guys. And even though the most recent holiday was April Fools Day (Tee-hee!), in the Green Lantern book, it's all about Christmas. Which for Kyle means monitor duty at Titans HQ, possible internal damage due to Impulse super speed tackling him, and dealing with the classic Green Lantern villain, Dr Polaris in the snazzy 90's version of his overly purple costume. But he does get to stand under the mistletoe with Donna Troy, so that's definitely a great present. Over in the Guy Gardner book, we get to unwrap the present that Major Force left in Guy's fridge...and it's not what you think. Plus Guy pounds the living snot out of Major Force as the two battle their way around the Beltway of Washington D.C. It's a giant fight sequence artfully done by craftsmen Beau Smith, Mitch Byrd, and Dan Davis, with a twist ending that will leave the internet on fire...if the internet was that prevelant during the time of publishing. So unless you want your Christmas ham served with an extra side of Vuldarian justice, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!

Howdy y'all, and welcome to Just One of Them There Guys, A U.S.1 podcast, where myself, Shawn Engel, and my co-pilot Jay Ferguson are going to be tackling the greatest comic adventure ever told...that involves a trucker with a metal plate in his skull that he can receive CB signals on. Yep, he's basically Tony Stark, James Bond, and Greg Evigan wrapped into one tight pair of Wrangler Boot Cut denims. Plus you get the tragic tale of the death of his brother at the hands of...the Highwayman! And you meet supporting characters who are in no way horrible stereotypes of southerners (except for Poppa Wheelie, who is dumb enough to stand in the middle of the interstate...at night...during a rainstorm). It's eighteen wheels of action, truckin' on down the highway, so grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and start to listening!

Hello Lantern Lovers, and welcome back to another episode of Just One of the Guys. This week in our coverage of the Green Lantern and Guy Gardner books, we get to see a honest depiction of life in New York City (NEW YORK CITY?!? Get a rope...) which involves demons coming out of dark alleys, superheroes moving furniture, and portals to Hell being opened up then subsequently shut by ancient evil wizards. Thomas Deja will back me up on the validity of these claims. Over in Guy Gardner: Warrior we get Guy being given hero status by then President William Jefferson Clinton, having a heart to heart with the Man of Steel himself, and getting into a tussle with an obvious Hulk analogue, Sledge. Hopefully Guy also has ties to Max Lord level of money, because during the scrap he knocks down THE FREAKING WASHINGTON MONUMENT!!! Which I guess just leaves it open for replacement by the much larger Clinton Monument that was going to be built right beside it. So unless you want a face full of non Mummy Rocket Boots, I suggest you grab your mp3 player of choice, download the show, and get to listening!
